The specified maximum load capacity of the barbell is only achieved under optimal conditions! The theoretically highest load capacity is possible for wide-grip exercises, such as bench presses. For point-to-point, central load transfer, such as squats, the maximum load capacity is lowest! Failure to comply with the load limits and application areas specified in the tables may result in damage to the barbells! Exchanges and warranty claims are excluded in this case! The application-specific load limits can be found in the table below.

Contact with or placement on unprotected metal shelves, J-hooks, etc., can damage the coating of the rod. We therefore recommend placing the rod on plastic or rubber-coated shelves.

Black Oxide

Black oxide isn't a coating in the true sense of the word, as no coating material is applied to the metal. The satin black color of the metal is created by a chemical process in which the surface of the steel turns black through chemical oxidation (non-staining!). This dull black "coating" creates a very good steel feel, but offers only slight wear protection, so signs of abrasion are visible after a relatively short period of use. Black oxide is sensitive to rust from moisture and magnesia. However, the surface can be refreshed quickly and easily like no other, thus developing a natural patina over time, and the barbell still looks great even after years of intensive use.

Maintenance / Care

As needed, clean/brush occasionally with a nylon brush (**light plastic bristles) - DO NOT use a steel brush - this can lead to reactions and discoloration on the surface!

For sufficient safety during training, we recommend our 50 mm closures.
